High gibbon trees

The high pines (probably at least 20 m high) on one of the two gibbon islands at Parken Zoo. The gibbon can climb all the way up to the treetops thanks to ropes.

The more I look at the pictures from this relatively small zoo, the more impressed I become! There are some very nice enclosures.

Sure... it is all very simple, no fake rocks and no attempt at immersion... but, apparently, a very sensible and cost-effective use of the available resources. Like in this picture: Swedish pine trees and gibbons... yes, why not?! I bet the little fellows enjoy this arrangement a lot! Tall trees to climb, cheap ropes - easy to re-arrange...
