The Swiss Butterfly Garden in the outdoor area of the Papiliorama. The Swiss Butterfly Garden is an outdoor aviary totalling a size of 500 sqm opened in 2004. Inside this walkthrough aviary lives 10 species of indigenous butterfly species all living out their natural life cycle in the recreated Swiss biomes of rocky slopes and grassy meadows.

The aim of this aviary is the spread the conservation message about the ever decreasing butterfly habitats in Switzerland.

I really like this display and I am a huge fan of zoos that have a good representation of native wildlife, like this.

I wonder which butterfly species live here.
 
It's written on their home page that there is/will be "MORE then 10 species" in there.
If my memories do not get my wrong (!), the stock of species in this aviary is not allways the same (presumed keywords: availability, plants in blossom, plant species in the exhibit). Will check it on my next visit.

I did not mention this exhibit in the short review because its not occupied/open year round (summer only), but Toddy is correct of course.
