Atlantic puffin aviary

The aviary for a breeding colony of about 25 atlantic puffin (4 youngsters in 2014). Other inhabitants are arctic tern and European golden plover.

This was my favourite exhibit at Bern, it's a great to see them swimming under water and the flying over your head. And it's great that they are breeding so good. Although I belive that there were much more birds some years ago.

One of my favorite species native to the British Isles I have been lucky enough to see the sizable breeding colony on the Farne Islands.

@arafan, the breeding results are pretty good last years, but I also had expected to see a few more, especially as their starting number was about 30 animals...
