Thanks for the explanation, Maguari. But I am still not conviced about the merits of this enclosure. Add a few more climbing trees and I think it might have made an OK leopard enclosure - but cheethas? No way!
On the other hand - the landscaping efforts (and costs!) put into this exhibit is almost of "American proportions"! That is interesting; you don´t get to see much of that in Europe.

And that is really a shame since it is a magnificent sight! You should visit Ree Park - Ebeltoft Safari if you want to see cheetahs sprint in a huge enclosure. Unfortunately, no city zoo can spare the amount of land that would be needed for that...
For this species, almost a case where an exhibit is too lush with foliage. For Cheetahs, I would lose the rockwork, some of the overly lush vegetation, and concentrate on tall grass, a few fallen trees, and maybe one large Acacia for shade.
