Allthough it is not that small, compared to other European zoos (London, Artis etc.) it is not acceptable in combination with the outdoor enclosure they have.

While Zurich's primate house is definitely fairly old and cramped, they do an excellent job of encouraging people to sit or at least slow down and watch the animals. Look at all the people sitting here! I hardly ever see that on zoo visits. While this part of the house has "natural/jungle" seating, other parts of the house were set up as a living room, with rugs, small tables, armchairs and sofas, where visitors could sit and observe. I guess this wouldn't work on very busy days though.
