Oh yes, it was worth it! Plus I got to have a very nice dinner with Zoomaniac. I had to wait all day for this shot, as the snow leopards just kept lying on the far right side of the enclosure the entire day. (I left a couple times and went back but they were always there). Finally at 3pm they crossed, one at a time (mother then two juvenile cubs), to the other side when I got shots like this.
@Arizona Docent: I'm glad to see you have enjoyed your stay in Switzerland (and hope you had a pleasant stay in France and a safe journey back to Arizona). It was a great pleasure and honor having you here. The only sad thing was that there was not enough time to talk detailed about our beloved subject: zoos
Thanks again for your book "Zoos of the Southwest". This is a fantastic work/oeuvre with world class pictures I strongly recommend to anyone who's interested in zoos.
Thanks. As I said it was a bit of a wait, but worth it. The snow was remaining from a storm two weeks previous (according to Zoomaniac). Much of it had melted, but there was still enough left for nice photos.
