Common Gundis (Ctenodactylus gundi)

I have no idea. I doubt they live in protected land since imports of other various animals come from the northern part of Africa where they are from. I don't know what they eat or if they have a special diet. It would be hard to know if they are easy to take care of since they live in very few zoos. I believe 10 in Europe. Not sure if they have made it over to the US yet. Most likely it has to do with space. If a small rodents needs a lot of room, which means more money to keep, it doesn't make it very far in the pet trade. Thats why you don't see a lot of Springhaas or Jerboas.

Basically, if it can't live in a tank than most people won't bother with it since they don't have the time, space, or money. Which is very sad since those two species need to be bred in captivity.
