Common sun skink

I confess that I can get confused by skinks. This individual was in the small vivarium next to the macaques, which was previously/is still occupied by the long-tailed lizards. People who know better than I do say that this species is Eutropis multifasciata. To my eye the larger specimen I saw in the large vivarium (next but one on the right) looked more like the photos I have seen of this species, but I also know that skinks can change colour and markings as they grow, so I am confused again.

Yes, this is E.multifasciata. the white spots are quite common on young specimens, leading to confusion with E.macularia, but in that species there is a black/brown stripe down the side extending up the head and passing through the eye.

Just realised the image of the E.macularia uploaded by MagpieGoose in december doesn't actually follow that rule; nor does it particularly closely resemble any other specimens i've seen labelled as macularia!
