I would say the size of an average pet rabbit (if you disregard the tail!) - big squirrels but not monsters. These weren't as big as the Grizzled Giant Squirrels I've seen in Europe (which are huge); this is is an island form which may have something to do with that.

They had two and they were the second animals I came to (after the jackals). Wonderful animals.
