This is half the fun! Narrow, winding pathways that are almost completely enclosed in vines, creepers and other foliage create an absolutely brilliant immersion experience. The Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle uses this technique for their Elephant Forest and Trail of Vines pathways, where the humans find themselves in a rainforest atmosphere before they even come across the naturalistic animal habitats. It is a thousand times more enriching than simply strolling up to some outdated cage.
