@captain alligator, by comparison, ZooTampa’s indoor enclosure for their juvenile Komodo may be half the size of this. Yet, they manage to have both climbing material and natural substrate. With the latter being absent in this enclosure for an adult dragon!
Yeah, it is pretty bad all things considered. They are in the line at the Congo River Rapids ride and the whole thing is just a concrete glass enclosure. ZooTampa does a lot more with their space. ZooTampa's outdoor space can be divided into two areas or expanded into one large space.
I believe this used to have juvenile crocs in it, didn't it? You can tell where they just filled the water area in with concrete...probably should put the crocs back, lol. Makes more sense thematically & the exhibit would definitely be better suited for some sort of small crocodilian.
@Rijin yeah, it is kind of weird and doesn't mix with the theme at all. I don't really know why they have komodo dragons other than to just "have" them. Nobody is going to Busch to see komodo dragons.
