Copenhagen Zoo - Babirusa

The lone babirusa male in the old Elephant House in Copenhagen Zoo. This male was made famous in 2006, when he fathered the famous three pig/babirusa hybrid piglets. If any of you haven't heard about them, I can tell you that it's a world sensation. According to science and genetic research at the time, these piglets coulden't exist. It is still unclear how to such different species could breed. The piglets are still alive, and really do look like a mix between a babirusa and a pig.

Just added three photos of the hybrids to the gallery

I'm not sure... Maybe they will keep their current enclosure in the old elephant house, or maybe they will be housed elsewhere in the zoo.
