My main complaint is that the outdoor enclosure is simply too small. If you compare with the otherwise so similar exhibit at Berlin Zoo, there is so much more space there in Berlin for the hippos when they decide to get out of the water.
Then again, much better then the old hippo enclosure, that was abandoend a few years ago, of course.
And I shouldn´t even mention that when I was a kid, the hippo enclosure consisted of a small concrete pool by the old elephant house and that their quarters was a prison cell in that very house... or am I remembering wrong here...
Oh well... never mind...
