Having googled both images online. looks like it's a Crab Eating Macaque, not pink enough face for Japanese Macaque, so not sure why it's labelled at the Zoo as a Japanese Crab Eating Macaque.
No different I suppose to Wingham calling their bears Moon Bears, which is not the right name either. who knows.
Given the fact the Crab-eating Macaque is also called the Javan Macaque I think it's possible you misread Javanese as Japanese but yes, you are correct that it's a Crab-eating.
Oh, and Moon Bear *is* a legitimate name for the species to which you refer.
@Zooreviewsuk Moon Bear is just another, less-commonplace, name *for* Asiatic Black Bear but Wingham didn't invent it. It's no different to (for instance) places variously using the name Bear Macaque and Stump-tailed Macaque for Macaca arctoides.... or indeed Crab-eating Macaque, Long-tailed Macaque or Javan Macaque for the species in your photo.
@birdsandbats It's not unknown, but in this case they aren't hybrids.
