The orphanage and Wildlife Trust were established in memory of David Sheldrick, long-time warden of Tsavo National Park and hardcore conservationalist. The orphanage rescues and raises orphaned elephants and rhinos and, when ready, releases them into Tsavo National Park in southern Kenya.
