Many degus that I have seen are kept in exhibits with more climbing apparatus than this. What is optimal for this species?

I have seen Degus in a variety of exhibits and my feeling is that this is an excellent habitat for the zoo's two specimens. It has more opportunities for climbing than a number of exhibits I have encountered and certainly more than I provided when I kept the species at home.
