@lintworm That is correct. The zoo has two Nile Hippos plus maybe 4 giraffes and this area is where the species spend most of their time.

@snowleopard Thanks, I like the idea, but for the giraffes it is pretty sh*tty to spend half the year on that small area...

@lintworm I agree! Calgary has two enormous, architecturally-stunning buildings in the Destination Africa section of the zoo, but there is certainly an "industrial" feel to the complex and the buildings are now 14 years old and a bit rough around the edges these days.
