Dingo : Hamerton : 15 Jun 2020

Canis dingo. 'Fraser Island' dingo. Adult male with pups (3m+3f, approx 15 weeks old)
Adult male "Yogi" had managed to acquire a vole; he then hared around the paddock with it for several minutes, with all his six pups chasing. Then he leapt up onto the roof of the LandRover, before dropping down onto the bonnet and placing the vole just out of reach of the pups, none of whom could make the leap to claim the prize :)

Mum "Daisy" just watched all of this from afar . . .

Saw Daisy and Yogi last November. So wonderful to see their beautiful pups thriving. Can't wait to go and see them. Thanks for posting, made my day! :D:D

Absolutely brilliant capture, I was there on Wednesday and the pups are so near the wire it's very hard to get a shot without the wire!

Thanks @hmb_zoo :) Yes, I was having the same 'problem' (not at all a problem of course, unless you happen to be after something more than a record shot :D, and it was certainly great to see them all up close), until Yogi caught the vole. Daisy was laid down quite near the fence (nr caracals), but just far enough away for me to defocus or shoot through the wires.

Unfortunately my lens focus mechanism has been playing up just recently, so I struggled to get many decent shots as they all tore around the paddock :(. Sadly it's about £300 to fix it, from what I can gather
