Panther is the alternative name for Black Leopard. As far as I know these are subspecific black leopards but the colour phase is more common in the South East Asian races.

Then why be so vague in your question: "what type"? By "type" do you mean "race" or "subspecies"? If so then I will repeat my answer: they are subspecific hybrids. The term "panther" is rather a colloquialism. In Britain we apply this term to the black leopard but it is used by other peoples for many different species around the world. I am no mind reader so tried to cover all my bases in my last reply. Sorry if it came accross as patronising.
These are the general African Leopards.
The Enclosure is looking alot better now with so much vegitation and alot more climbing oppurtunities. You can barely see the Rock at the back!
I would rate it as one of the best African Leopard Enclosures I have seen.
