Don't want to run down Duisburg as I love it, but this must have been nasty when in use.
Seems like all old polar bear grotto's had the same basic horrible design.
Wonder if it will be reused for something more suitable or just left as a relic of how not to do things in the future?
I remember seeing southamerican fur seals in here. It is much less deep then in my memories. But I was 11 wen I last visited Duisburg(being lucky to have seen the beluga and commerson dolphin)
