Dusky pademelon exhibit (formerly wombat), 2019-12-28

Until recently this exhibit housed a single female common wombat (Vombatus ursinus hirsutus). I do not know what happened to this animal and whether it has moved to another zoo, has been taken behind the scenes of has passed away.

Nor do I know whether the dusky pademelon that has now moved in is an animal transferred from another zoo or one that was kept behind the scenes after the dusky pademelons were taken out of the koala house at Planckendael and the tree kangaroo exhibit at Zoo Antwerpen.

In any case, while I will miss the wombat, I do welcome the return of the dusky pademelon and I hope there will be more specimens again in the future. I enjoyed seeing the small group in the koala house a few years ago.
