EARLY DAYS BEAR RAVINE

This was also in the group of pics on my E- Mail
one thing I can\'t get my head round if the building was listed was the front walls removed before or after it was listed
As today thier is a moat round the edge of the enclosure and it\'s rectangeular in design and not as in the photo

This is a very strange photo indeed.
As you say the ravine doesn't look like this now, and it seems that the side wall has been knocked down and reshaped, how odd for a building that we are told cannot be touched.
Wonder when this was taken?
And were all the Tecton building built around the same time or in different phases?

I've been in touch with my friend about exactlly the same thing and they say it was taken around about 1940 - 1942 this would then suggest that the wall was taken down before they were listed.
It is suggested that all the tecton buildings were built at the same time but I'm not too sure myself but looking into it.
I'm trying to do a project about Dudley zoo at the moment, to include all the redevelpoements around the zoo too enclosures and buildings and a list of all animals that have been in the zoo from May 6th 1937 upto the present day, I know it's a long project but hope to recieve help from anyone who has any revelent information.

Visited the zoo today 27th oct ans believe it or not I actually found the half circle of the wall still tobe intact, now that the undergrowth has died down a bit will put pic's on gallery as soon as I can.
