I assume this was a wild bird? Certainly one of the most attractive honeyeaters and one of my favourites.

No it is actually a captive individual. This was taken in the last (furthest from the koalas) aviary in the Horseshoe aviaries. This species, however, is not signed.

That's interesting - I have not seen them at Taronga before, but the Australian Reptile Park has had them on display. Do you know if they had a pair in there?

I only managed to see this male, but there could have been more that I missed.
