The elephant paddock at the zoo is between 1 acre and 1.5 acres, depending on whether one includes the barn. This photo shows the end of the long and narrow enclosure, and the elephants rarely ever venture too far from their barn. One can see the grass that is clearly growing quite strongly without the heavy footsteps of pachyderms stamping it into oblivion.
