The elephant forest, opened in 2020, is a form of summer exhibit for elephants.
It's for elephants to escape from daylight and heat in summer period, plus able to enjoy the natural vegetations.
Although the habitat is not a free-access for elephants, keepers check meteorological data daily and decide to open the exhibit or not.
Indeed there are issues like the safety of elephants and maintenance of vegetations - which require a constant surveillance of keepers.
Still, the habitat is a great step for elephant habitats in Korea, and you can expect the elephants' natural behaviors if you get a chance to see them in their forest playground!
