One of our female elephants named Tun receiving acupuncture for a leg injury sustained during mating. The needles used for elephants are specially made and much longer and thicker than those used for humans. The elephant has been conditioned to lie down and keep still.

The man performing the treatment is vet Dr Oh, who is also a certified traditional Chinese medicine practitioner.

This is really cool to me-my family is involved in an accupuncture clinic in the US. You said that the needles are specially made for elephants. Is this a common practice in SE Asia?
