Elephants 1979

Print from a slide. Gomba at the front, Jangoli and Susie at the rear.
An Elephant could quite easily have picked one up and tossed it at a visitor. I suspect they had been in the ground and emerged through time and/or been worked out by the Elephants. On the subject of visitor safety, when the Elephants were behind the gate near the slope on the other photo they could reach over with their trunks. At the time only Susie would have been large enough to reach over any distance without rearing up circus-style first. I have a photo somewhere of me aged 14 standing in front of the gate with Susie's trunk behind me - I was not as close to the door as it looks on the photo!
