@Summer Tanager It wasn't super secluded from the visitor walkway, but still a little into a shrub, enough to make the bird fairly inconspicuous. When I visited recently I saw the Emei Shan Liocichla aviary was entirely shielded from the visitor area with a reed mat. While this may well be for breeding purposes, it could also have to do with the demolition of the jubilee complex, of which the bear exhibit area is close to the bird house.
