This is one of the only species in the zoo which is not in the correct geographic area. I don't mind it though, because they are compared to green tree pythons which are from Australasia.

Contrary to popular believe belief, Australasia is not Australia and Southeast Asia, it's New Zealand and the other islands of Oceania. Chlidonias can give you a 5 page argument if you don't believe me.

I think you misremembered the conversations, Australasia isn't "New Zealand and the other islands of Oceania", it is Australia and New Zealand and outlying groups (including New Guinea but not including southeast Asia)

The Toronto Zoo's Australasia pavilion is home to animals from Australia, New Guinea, and the Solomon Islands with the only exceptions being Komodo dragons and emerald tree boas. There is another building for animals from southeast Asia in a different part of the zoo.
