Emperor Tamarin - Marwell 2021

I find that this 'monkey picture' has a different aura to most 'monkey pictures' in my collection, and indeed most such pictures I have seen. It does not go into great detail on the animal as a whole, but seems to take focus on the identifying features - namely the distinct brow, and the iconic..
..moustache. Apparently this moustache was what gave the monkey its name - as German taxidermists had such fun manipulating them to resemble that of Wilhelm II, that Goeldi jokingly referred to them as 'emperors'..! Apparently this is the only Emperor Tamarin currently in Marwell's collection, but as opposed to various species which have disappeared from Marwell to never return, it seems that there were no individuals at the start of 2021 - they received this animal later in the year.
