Empty Mombassa Lagoon!

Taken February 5th, 2022. I know this clearly isn’t a photo of an animal nor a habitat but I thought it was very interesting to look at the lagoon without any water and wanted to share.
@Great Argus Most likely.

It's really interesting to get a view of the lake empty. It's really a whole different perspective, as you can see all the small rock islands the birds have access to.

Is there any fish that were in the lake beforehand?

@Jambo I'm not aware of any significant fish being in there, due to it housing Pink-backed Pelicans and White-breasted Cormorants, as well as historically Shoebills and African Darter. Mosquitofish might be a possibility, but I've never heard of it.

This is how it looked in January 2018 when I visited for the first time. It surprises me how shallow it is given it houses pelicans which are a large bird and cormorants which are a diving species.

@Great Argus I visited closer to the end of the month, iirc there was some maintenance issue that caused it at the time. Work was actively being done on it during my visit, and I don't recall the two pig habitats along the lagoon viewing being accessible at the time.
