I have never seen a marmot here, despite several visits in the past years...
The enclosure has held marmots since it was opened in 2011, for a short while there were also black grouse in with them, but that was only for a year or 2....

I just checked my photos, and I did see a pair of Black Grouse in there in early 2012. Kind of surprised they didn't stick with displaying a bird in here as well, especially if the marmots are not very showy. Maybe there were negative interactions between the species?
Your so right kiang, originaly this was the first outdoor enclosure of the monkey house and I've seen several species in it ( 1970-ties - 1980-ties ).
As already mentioned later the Marmots were kept inhere together with Grouse - I've seen these in this enclosure in 2012 / 2013 but during my last visit ( Feb. 2016 ) these also were not visiable which ment no animals at all in this enclosure .
I had no difficulty in seeing the Marmots in here when I visited last summer. I also saw them in Berlin a few days earlier with no problems (in both places they were extremely active whenever I looked at the enclosure).
Just lucky I guess

I missed them in Berlin to, which I visited a few days after Artis. Having said that, I did visit in early February, so maybe they were all still hibernating...?
