The window above the curtain gives a way better view than the hole you took a photograph trough..
On my visit last month the female and the recently born youngster were locked inside. The male and (I suppose) last year's young were both in the mesh enclosure.

I would never have thought to look through the window!
Of course I did look through the window, but the animal was right up next to the corner so I couldn't see it.
I spent a fair while looking in the mesh enclosure, but the animals must have been hiding.
