This new entrance was just unveiled to the public a couple of months ago, but it is actually only a temporary one and just about everything that is shown in this photo will be torn down in May of 2014. The walls are not as permanent as they look, and part of the aquarium's $100 million transformation includes a splashy new entrance in a different area. I asked around on my latest visit and the facility is intent on still having only one entrance/exit area and so the temporary entrance will last two years before being knocked down.
