This is the entrace to the building holding the circus show. The previous owner of the Olmense Zoo started the circus at his private zoo for his own pleasure. When the zoo was opened to the public, the circus continued. In the past, wild animals living the zoo (including large animals) were used in the show and when I first visited the Olmense Zoo as a child in the late 1990s, they had big cat cubs at the circus and allowed visitors (mostly children) to have pictures taken with them (neither practices continue today). An entertainment show is still held at the circus once a day. The animals used in the show today include ponies, shepherd dogs, eagle-owls and possibly macaws. I have myself never attended the circus show, though, so what I know is from pictures and hear-say.
