This nice mid-sized aquarium focuses on Hawaiian sea life and is located on the island of Maui's west coast in the state of Hawaii. The complex is composed of an entry building with services, two main aquarium buildings, and a plaza with several outdoor aquarium exhibits. The smaller of the two main buildings contains Living Reef, with many smaller aquariums for reef life. The larger building contains the Marine Mammal Discovery Center with models and exhibits about monk seals, humpback whales, and dolphins; an exhibit about native relationships with the ocean called Hawaiians and the Sea; and the large Open Ocean aquarium tank with sharks. The outdoor exhibits include Surge Zone with simulated waves, Turtle Lagoon, Hammerhead Harbor with scalloped hammerheads, and Tide Pool.
