Unfortunately not.
To be fair, over the last 2 to 3 years Shepreth really seems to have made a lot of improvements - better paths, better fencing, better lemur facilities, new twilight building, new stable, new aviaries for eagle and barn owls (not together !) on this visit ........... so what could these large earthworks be in preparation for ?
Personally, I'd like to see the adjacent lynx and puma enclosures made into one area, and this space used for a new cat enclosure for one of the species.
However ......... wait for it ....... it's going to be a blooming "play barn" ....... in a wildlife park, which, for its size, already has a huge aray of kiddie fun stuff, it really does.
Am guessing that this may be something you will have to pay extra for so was no doubt a commercial decision, but must be happening at some cost nonetheless. Presumably, it will be touted as an all weather park once this is built ?
It's sad the area could not have been utilised to extend and improve the cat housing (which isn't too bad, but which could be better).
