June 11, 2013. Former polar bear exhibit being modified for grizzly bears. The hole in the middle is new - it used to be a solid wall. The side nearer the camera is the pool side and the side on the other side of the opening is the grass side. Now bears will have access to both without having to go through night house to switch. Workers at bottom are standing in the pool, which will have a new shallow slope for easier entry and exit.
