The first and smallest of the open-topped bird yards held a single red-crowned crane. It seemed to me this is kind of a spare exhibit used when necessary for suitable species. Avifauna has a pair of red-crowned cranes elsewhere, in the Chinese exhibit I will show later on this gallery.
