September 2014. This touchtank is subdivided into about 6 smaller tanks. Explorers Reef is the newest exhibit area at the park, opening earlier this year. It is composed of the redesigned entrance area and visitor services, as well as 5 new outdoor animal habitats (4 of them are touchtanks).

What was your impression of this area, Geomorph? Did they do anything new here with the touch tank concept?

I was impressed with the ease for visitors to immediately get involved with aquatic life here, a very good move for the park instead of trying to locate another themed ride or vaguely related attraction. The staffing levels throughout the day were also impressive, with frequent live informational presentations. All the inhabitants had ample space to escape contact if they wanted to, and the number of inhabitants was noteworthy. I had never seen a cleaner fish touch tank and it was delightful to have about 50 of them sucking on one's fingers and wrists!

Would these be the same species used to clean people`s feet??
