Family Portrait

One of these was the first Chacoan Piglett in the northeast U.S. Your guest is as good as mine.
The Chacoan Peccary piglet is exactly one year old now, but even at six months she was hard to identify from her parents! I'm going to guess the third one from the left that's snuggled up to another peccary. I honestly don't know. Beardsley Zoo was also the first zoo in the Northeast to exhibit Chacaon Peccaries. The herd is made up of;
Bernard: He is the mate of Acorn and father of the piglet. He came to the zoo in May 2007 and was in the old llama exhibit until after Labor Day when he moved into this exhibit. He is one of the first 3 Chacoan Peccaries in the Northeast, and the only one of the original 3 that remained at Beardsley.
Acorn: She was brought to the zoo in summer 2010 to breed. She is the mate of Bernard and mother of the piglet.
Piglet: Her name is unknown, but she is the first Chacoan Peccary piglet in the Northeast and was born on October 20, 2011. She is the daughter of Bernard and Acorn. She is 1 year old.
Amarillo: She is the newest member of the group, and came from Fresno Chaffee Zoo to breed with Bernard. She is 12 years old.

That's who I guessed the piglett was, too.
