As you come up from the first escalator you see this view into the China Zone (with a giant fake tree right in the way for some reason). To your left is where the Special Exhibition area is, to your right is where the SOS Save Our Sharks exhibition is.
The tanks you can see here are the small brackish tank for mudskippers and gobies (dead ahead), the Endangered Chinese Fish tank (hard left with people in front), the Chinese alligator tank (back right, with more people in front), and the carp/giant salamander tank (with the person in the pink jacket in front).
