This photo shows Hamilton Zoo’s Fishing cat complex - which consists of several exhibits (both on and off display). The area has been closed for several months now, due to maintenance. Hopefully this will lead to the zoo finally having success in breeding this species.
Hamilton Zoo have 1.2 Fishing cat. The male, Bandula, was born at Port Lympne Animal Park; and the females, Indah and Sahaja, were born at Singapore Zoo and Zoo Ostrava respectively.
Hamilton Zoo’s first pair were Besar and Imphal (both now deceased).
Hamilton Zoo is only one of two holders of this species in the region - Taronga Zoo have a 1.1 pair.
