That's so awesome you got to see her doing that and being really active in so many different ways like jumping and also going into the water of her pond. Was lucky enough to see her climbing and walking along the wooden poles at top of her exhibit two years ago, was amazing seeing her climbing up there so high up and walking around on the wooden frames, something that never expected to see a fishing cat do (naiively thought because of their semi aquatic lifestyle with catching fish in the water, had never consiered their arboreal abilities even though they're cats, so climbing is a given skill abillity naturally). Maew's so awesome when get lucky to see her and when she is feeling active hey. Really great photo btw!! (same with Mani the pelican closeup of him, and getting the photo of JR in his noc' house home too. Didn't realise the work they were going to do in retheming the surrounds of the eles' old exhibit for when Hari and the buffalos are there soon).

@steveroberts this is definitely the most active I’ve seen her, I’ve probably managed to spot her four times over the last 10 or so years but she’s usually curled up somewhere or standing very still

I was also a bit surprised at the info provided on the scaffolding fences and area around the old elephant enclosure. They were very clear announcing who Hari was, and their intention with the area which I think is fantastic!

Oh yeah that is fantastic that they are making clear written mention to the visitors there about who Hari is and how the eles' area is being planned for him coming down to live there from WP (and the water buffalos). So glad to hear the zoo is announcing his arrival through information signage about him ahead of his arrival.

Yeah same here with Maew, have been lucky to see her moving a little bit through her exhibit maybe twice or three times, but when she started climbing and moving about on the wooden beams for her two years ago was just incredible to see her moving around like that so agile and high up (hopefully Mary will do the same when she wants to now she has those excellent looking wooden climbing frames setup in her exhibit just saw from your photo, even though her back is turned, she looks like she's really intrigued by it all. Have a very big love for Mary a lot. Maew is really awesome too, definitely another personal favourite at TZ). That's so cool you saw her going into the water of her pond today. Last saw think was Fiddle the one with three legs, poking her nose into the water, and before that saw one of the previous fishing cats splashing the water with front paws in the old exhibit as a kid in about 1995 or 1996, so never actually seen one go into the water fully before, only seen in footage online or photos from wildlife photographers. Lol sorry: reply seemed like wasnt going to be so lengthy in my head when typing.

*same though with the other fishing cats in the past, half the time just a glimpse (once or twice in the darkened den) and even sometimes couldnt see, been lucky with Maew a few times a bit. But she was hiding somewhere last time visiting, but returned later n and got to see her doing a few laps around her exhibit.
