The glass building behind is a 3-storey events/function hall which is rented out to companies and the public. Its very popular for wedding ceremonies with the backdrop of 1,000 pink flamingos. At least one wedding banquet/solemnisation is held there each month.
The Singapore Zoo, Night Safari and BirdPark are no longer funded by the government and have to rely on other means to remain economically viable. Hosting events is a major source of revenue for the parks.
