Coelacanth18 16 Aug 2025 @RatioTile is this a local rescue? How did you tell it was the Florida subspecies?
RatioTile 16 Aug 2025 @Coelacanth18 Zoo Miami on Instagram: "Happy #NationalFoxDay from our two gray foxes, Magnolia and Cypress! They were both rescues who were rehabilitated at a local facility, but after being deemed non-releasable due to abandonment as kits, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) found their permanent home at #ZooMiami. Gray foxes, while found statewide, are more abundant in northern Florida. They are predominantly nocturnal and may occasionally be seen during the day. Learning to co-exist with wildlife is very important. There are ways that you can help wildlife, especially gray foxes: Secure food and avoid leaving dog food outside Never leave small animals unattended outdoors Observe foxes from a distance. Approaching or feeding them is illegal!"
