Florida Sandhill Crane (Antigone canadensis pratensis)

How old is it? Has it been there since 1968? If so, that's very impressive!

@Summer Tanager Since the 90’s, after the WCS acquisition. I didn’t know there was an older, pre-WCS Queens Zoo.

I don't know the full history of the Queens Zoo, so your info is better than mine. I was under the impression that the Zoo in Queens opened in the late 1960s but I didn't think about whether or not it was under the umbrella of the WCS when it opened. Regardless - 35 years is an impressive age for a Sandhill Crane!
