Forest Aviary - 35 Bird Species

this aviary looks good, can you tell me approx what size - i am involved in building a 1000m2 one and am trying to calculate how many aniamls could be put into it - i know depends on habitats and sizes but need some help if possible

I trust that you know a great deal depends on which species you are using, and how many of each. All small passerines? Some passerines and some aquatics? A psittacine or two? Each situation changes the possible numbers. Here ya go: it can hold either 900 finches or 10 Trumpeters or one macaw. OR 845 finches, 2 trumpeters and 4 ducks OR....... :D

A 1000m2 aviary that is 3m tall is quite different from one that is 10m tall, and the bird populations will differ as well. A perfectly symmetrical aviary may hold fewer birds or fewer species than one with a more attenuated shape. You would be so much wiser to develop your bird list (or wish list) and then contact a competent aviary manager to discuss the details of your list and your situation.

thank for bird list and comments- the aviary is now 1200m2 9m high and i have a whole range of options as you say, i have 8 flamingos to accommodate as well -then am creating micro habitats witihn enclosure etc. just looking at sifferent ideas before i put together internal landcaping and species choice
