It is, altough outdoor cage sare missing, they had spectecular holding and breeding sucesses in that house. It was opened in 1962, but its not look like a building of that age.
I really liked the Frankfurt bird house, even if it does look reminiscent of a museum corridor (and some of the glass-fronted boxes for finches are very small!). This was where I saw my first pigmy kingfisher (I can't remember which species) and bald crow (Picathartes). The latter was the undoubted highlight of the zoo overall.
