@Swedish Zoo Fan, that is all very well and good yes. This structure has stood a good few decades yes and did serve the southern black rhino breeding pair well and the pair bred well and managed to raise 3 calves in this exhibit. So, it did serve its purpose well!
Now at some point both the (former) black rhino pair was getting on in years and it is certainly not a very good idea to renovate or rebuild/built back a new black rhino exhibit before this pair had passed on and been allowed to live out the latter years in relative well deserved peace.
The Pachyderm House now has only elderly common hippo and once that individual passes on ..., there are of course already plans for a new state of the art black rhino facility in its place.
So patience remains ... a virtue ... - I am afraid - you would be well advised to heed!
